Monto

Privacy Policy

Application: Monto (com.sslabapp.monto)
Last updated: September 7, 2026

In short: Monto has no user accounts, no servers, and collects none of your data. Everything you record — accounts, transactions, categories, budgets — is stored only on your device. We never see it and it is never sent anywhere.

1. Who is responsible

Monto is a personal budgeting app developed by Luis Santiago Sucerquia Londoño. You can reach us at santiagodevtools@gmail.com with any question about this policy.

2. Data you create inside the app

To do its job, Monto stores the information you enter: accounts and balances, transactions (amount, date, description, category), transfers between accounts, recurring movements, budgets, and your preferences (currency, language, light/dark theme).

This information lives in a local SQLite database inside the app's private storage on your device. It is never transmitted to any server, ours or a third party's, and the developer has no way to access it.

3. Data we do NOT collect

4. Network connections

Monto works fully offline. The only connection it makes comes from Expo's update system (expo-updates): on launch it may contact u.expo.dev to check whether a newer version of the app is available.

That request carries only the technical information needed to deliver the right update (app version, platform, and basic device details). No financial or personal data is sent. The service is operated by Expo (650 Industries, Inc.); see expo.dev/privacy.

5. Backups (export and import)

The app lets you export your database to a file and import it back. You create and save that file through your operating system's file picker or share sheet, and you decide where it goes (local storage, a cloud drive, another app).

The developer never receives, stores, or has access to those files. If you choose to keep them in a third-party service, that service's privacy policy applies to them.

6. Android permissions

The Play listing may show the INTERNET, READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, and WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permissions. They are declared by the libraries the app uses for updates and for handling backup files. The app never scans your storage and never reads files you have not explicitly selected.

7. How to delete your data

Since there is no account and no cloud copy, uninstalling the app permanently deletes all your data. You can also clear it from Settings › Apps › Monto › Storage › Clear data. There is nothing to request and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Any backup files you exported yourself are yours to delete.

8. Children

Monto is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. As it collects no personal data from any user, it collects none from children either.

9. Distribution

The app is distributed through Google Play. Downloads, purchases, and install statistics are handled by Google under its own privacy policy, which is outside our control.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will publish the new version at this same address and update the "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we will also note it in the app's release notes.
